The EcotrailSicilia Amateur Sports Association, in collaboration with ACSI and under the patronage of the ARS (Sicilian Regional Assembly) and the Department of Rural and Territorial Development of the Sicilian Region, organizes sporting events that include trail running, trekking, and guided excursions within Sicily’s parks and nature reserves.

The objectives of ASD EcotrailSicilia go beyond the common practice of sport and can be summarized as follows:

• promote respect for the environment;
• encourage the promotion and protection of the territory;
• encourage the development of sustainable tourism focused on understanding the local characteristics;
• promote social, economic, and naturalistic aspects for the benefit of local populations;
• promote local artisanal, agricultural, and gastronomic products;
• help create the conditions for the promotion of new entrepreneurship focused on nature conservation and the restoration of local historical assets;
• encourage cultural exchange between local entities involved in various capacities in organizing the various stages of the Circuit;
• Promote concrete solidarity initiatives.

EcotrailSicilia goes beyond sport, representing a new opportunity that identifies activities in nature as one of the best ways to foster awareness, promote respect for it, and enhance its historical, cultural, and human resources.
