WHO WE ARE
The EcotrailSicilia Amateur Sports Association, in collaboration with ACSI and with the patronage of the Rural and Territorial Development Department of the Sicilian Region, organizes sporting events that include Trail Running, Trekking and guided excursions within the Parks and Nature Reserves of Sicily.
The objectives that ASD EcotrailSicilia pursues go beyond common sporting practice, and can be summarized as follows:
- promote respect for the environment; promote the promotion and protection of the territory;
- encourage the development of forms of sustainable tourism oriented towards knowledge of territorial characteristics;
- promote social, economic and naturalistic components for the benefit of local populations; promote local artisanal, agricultural and gastronomic products;
- contribute to creating the conditions for the promotion of new entrepreneurship oriented towards nature conservation and the recovery of local historical assets;
- promote cultural exchange between the local realities involved in various capacities in the organization of the various stages of the Circuit;
- promote concrete solidarity initiatives.
EcotrailSicilia goes beyond Sport, representing a new opportunity that identifies, in the activities carried out in Nature, one of the best ways to promote knowledge, promote respect for it and enhance its historical, cultural and human resources.
